how much does a website cost?
Cost is determined by the scope and complexity of the project. Contact us to receive our info/rate sheet with our fixed-rate package pricing or for a custom project quote. Our priority is your complete satisfaction. If your needs exceed your budget, we can implement a project in phases or can offer you different alternatives to achieve your goals. We always deliver a beautiful, effective and 'smart' website.

how does your payment schedule work?
We require a 50% non refundable deposit to begin work along with a signed Letter of Agreement. The balance is due when the site is complete, just prior to launch. (a completed project is one in which our work is done or has stopped due to delays on the client's end (waiting to launch the site, waiting for photographs, waiting to upload inventory, etc). how long until my site is live?
Anywhere from 4 weeks to 4 months from when we start the design process, depending on the size and complexity of the project. Communication is key and if you can respond to our questions/requests quickly and make timely decisions, the process moves fast. We work in phases and require a sign-off on each phase before we move on.

who updates my website?
You do. We do. It depends on the project. Our CMS and ecommerce sites provide you with a no-programming-necessary admin page where you can easily add/edit/delete content on your website. Some clients prefer to use us as a true web partner and have us make all web updates. Any monthly updates or maintenance is set up on a case by case basis.

what will my monthly costs be?
$0 - unless you need monthly updates or maintenance. Outside monthly costs required to run a site include hosting, secure server and payment processing (for ecommerce sites). We can recommend partners to you for these services.

can you evaluate my existing site? and help market my site?
Yes, we offer website evaluation services to determine your existing site's strengths/weaknesses. We also offer html email campaign services along with ideas about how to grow your email list.

do you offer any package pricing or discounts?
If you need more than one service like logo/webdesign or webdesign/email marketing, etc. we are happy to create a custom quote for you and offer a price break. We also offer you 20% off on web maintenance for referring business to us. See details here.

do you specialize in any type of industry? do you work with companies in a specific geographical location?
We work with companies in a variety of industries with an emphasis on retail boutiques for lifestyle brands. Our reach is nationwide with clients all over the country including Southern California where we are based.

who owns the copyright to the images?
Once you make your final payment, all designs and source code is yours. We reserve the right to use any designs we create for our marketing purposes. All of our websites include the credit "site by: venturesom" with a link to our website. We make sure this credit is very small and unobtrusive at the bottom of the page.

can I make changes to the project?
Of course. We try hard to outline your entire project in our initial proposal, but it's impossible to plan for every detail. We accommodate all change requests that fall within the parameters of the project. If the requested changes go beyond the initial time/cost estimated we will issue a change order for your approval. We don't like surprises (and we know you don't either!)

who uploads my inventory to the site?
All of our ecommerce projects include site design and build along with the addition of up to 10 products to the site. The remainder of the product inventory is the client's responsibility. We'd love to help you with it and can give you an estimate to do so when you're ready.

what if I need to cancel my project?
In the unfortunate event of a project cancellation, we require you to submit your request to cancel via email or fax. Ownership of all original artwork and programming is retained by us. All initial deposit payments are non-refundable, assuming we have started your project. In the unlikely event that work has not yet begun, your request for a refund will be processed.

what do I bring to the table?
We need any supplied web images, graphic, copy, content sent to us in electronic form, preferably by email. In some cases we can start your project without all of your materials in hand, using placeholders until you deliver your information. We'll give you a project checklist so you know what we need and when we need it.

what do I promise you?
We ask that you guarantee that all elements of text, graphics, photos, designs or other artwork are owned by you! (or that you have permission from the rightful owner to use these elements). And we need you to agree to hold us harmless and protected from any liability arising from the use of such elements- phew! Oh, and if any of our invoices are more than 15 days past due, please agree to pay us 1.5% per month in penalty until balance is paid. One more thing- we need you to authorize us to access your hosting account or any programs needed for this project and well as any confidential information the project requires (we NEVER tell).
